Would you be interested in hosting an international guest from the IGLYO conference for six days in connection to the start of the OutGames? The International Gay & Lesbian Youth Organisation Conference takes place in Amsterdam in mid July. Twenty of these participants have been handpicked to present the conclusions of the conference at the OutGames Human Rights Conference here in Copenhagen. BLUS is one of two local partners to IGLYO, (Landsforeningen for Bøsser og Lesbiske (LBL) is the other), and has thus taken upon itself to find accommodation for these guests.

The OutGames week is also Copenhagen Pride week, and on Saturday 1 August all of LGBTQ Copenhagen will gather for the Pride parade! BLUS will of course also be participating in the parade, and we want you to be a part of it! We will meet up in Frederiksberg on Saturday morning and prepare for the parade while enjoying some sweet and possibly alcoholic refreshments
You will be equipped with a complimentary BLUS t-shirt and necessary accessories. Around noon we’ll head for Frederiksberg Rådhusplads to find our spot in the parade. It’ll be a fun day of dressing up and having a blast with all your BLUS buddies!
NOTE! Sign-up is required and only a limited number of people will be able to join, so please sign up NOW by clicking here.
The World OutGames 2009 are just around the corner, and we’re excited to announce that BLUS will be reopening the doors of Studenterhuset for three full days during the OutGames week. The year is coming to an end and we would like to thank everyone for making it such a great one! Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out with parties, events, etc. We couldn’t have done it without you! We’ve had so many entertaining, educational, drunk, and just plain fun Tuesday nights during 2008. We’ll be taking a short break for the next couple of weeks to celebrate the holidays with our families, but then we’ll be back in 2009 for another exciting year of BLUS craziness – keep checking the calendar and watch out for our newsletters!
From all of us at BLUS:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year – Glædelig jul og godt nytår!
This Tuesday at BLUS is “Julestue” – an old Danish Christmas tradition for which the entire family gathers to consume large quantites of æbleskiver, pebernødder and glögg while making decorative cut ‘n’ paste Christmas decorations such as hearts, stars, and garlands. Take a break from exams and drop by to warm up to next week’s Christmas party – and invite a couple of your 743 Facebook friends to a night of Christmassy BLUS hygge
Speaking of Christmas party – don’t forget to sign up no later than tomorrow!
This month’s issue of Out & About has an article about BLUS and our international activities in particular. Grab a copy of O&A at Studenterhuset or read it online here. The piece is on page 56. Enjoy!
