BLUS Sex Education

BLUS had a wonderful tuesday evening (15 -11-11). Sexekspressen dropped by and we took a close look at human anatomy, we played fun games and we shared thoughts and ideas on human sexuality, sex education and love.

BLUS Lesbian Erotica Readings

Another BLUS night was set up on the 8th of November at Huset i Magstræde. The theme was Lesbian Erotica Readings. Adda, Ellen, Fiona, Jutta, Charlotte and Maria was reading poems and short stories with a lesbian touch. Lesbian porn was being screened during the BLUS tuesday night.

A poem by Freja Børsting:
Som i en film
Ligner sandkornene på din arm
guld,
og når min hånd strejfer dig,
falder de blinkende mod
jorden.
Mit liv er ikke længere nat og dag,
men delt op i tid jeg tilbringer med dig,
og tid hvor jeg
slet
ikke
eksisterer.

BLUS came out to the public

In celebration of Copenhagen World Outgames BLUS came out to the whole of Copenhagen.

The board of BLUS had discussed what to do to celebrate the Wolrd Outgames. Huge parties, handing out lemonade to athletes, hosting a bar at one of the OutCities, playing games in the park were all good ideas but once someone asked; what does BLUS do best? The answer was obvious. Lets make Tuesday evening last for a whole week!

Tuesday evenings are for many known as BLUS Day at the Studenthouse. Here students and former students come to socialise, discuss, meet new people and attend one of the planned events, which during the years have been everything from movie screenings to trips to the zoo. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and informal. These evenings are the core of BLUS and we think the rest of Copenhagen should taste a little of this wonderful core.

With the concept agreed on we began to plan. First obstacle was the Studenthouse. Every summer the Studenthouse closes its doors and this summer the house not only closed, it was also turned into a big building site. Luckily the Trinitatis Church just next to the Studenthouse kindly offered us the square between the church and the Studenthouse.

Second issue was what to do. How will we entertain the masses? Who knows a band? Who can do a lecture? What’s that guy’s name who dances capoeira? Oh! and can we do the Vagina Monologues? We called friends, BLUS members, Anthony and the Johnsons (they said no!), the Queen. After a lot of hard work and dedication we had a program; three days starting on a Tuesday. Rasmus, who is the designer of the BLUS logo, volunteered to design a poster. Facebook, MySpace, www.BLUS.dk, emails. Send it out there.

Third issue was the weather. We prayed, we wished, we stood on one leg, we searched for four-leaf clovers and we asked all the lady bugs to fly into the sky and give us good weather and it worked! When the day arrived we pulled out the couches, the chairs, the coffee tables, the bar, the beer, the sound system. The events began and people started showing up.

Moving BLUS outdoors into the public turned out to be a great experience. Not only did many BLUS members and friends come by to have a chat and hang out but also many people who just happened to be in the area. BLUS inhabited the square for three days and shared with everyone our good atmosphere and interesting events. The BLUS board would like to sincerely thank everyone who came by to give a hand. Thank you to the lecturers, workshop facilitators, the performers and the Studenthouse for their cooperation.
