Ditte Dyreborg returns to BLUS!

Quite commonly only two sexes are known to man and due to the hetero-normative doctrine accepted exclusively as such in the constructed society. However, in between these two sexes, called the border sexes, an enormous variety of different sexes exist. People in between the border sexes belong to the group of the intersexed. Intersexed or Middlesexed as it can also be referred to as are individuals who are neither entirely males nor females or they are both sexes in a combination. Previously intersex used to be referred to as hermaphroditism. Today the notions Intersex or Hermaproditism are no longer used by medical science to describe humans that are. Instead, the notion DSD (Disorders of Sex Development) has been invented and is now widespread being accepted by the medical science in the field as the singular choice of use for describing intersex individuals. What is intersex and how or why does it occur? How far back in time has it been known? Moreover, how is it being dealt with on and after the discovery?

Ditte Dyreborg who is an intersex individual i.e. a hermaphrodite and an advocate on the subject performs the lecture that takes place on Tuesday 12 May at 20:00 in the Red Room of Studenterhuset. DON’T MISS IT! (event on Facebook)
